SAP SuccessFactors

A complete human resources management system that covers everything from payroll to employee engagement in the cloud.

SAP SuccessFactors is a provider of cloud human experience management (HXM) – the new people-focused term for HCM. SAP SuccessFactors provides employees with experiences that recognize their individual value and consistently motivate them to achieve peak performance levels.

When using the SAP SuccessFactors connector, the first thing you will need to do is go to your account page, and select the workflow you wish to work on. Once in the workflow builder itself, search and drag the SAP SuccessFactors connector from the connectors panel (on the left hand side) onto your workflow.

With the new SAP SuccessFactors connector step highlighted, in the properties panel on the right, click on the Authenticate tab and 'Add new authentication' (located under the 'Authentication' field).

This will result in a authentication pop-up window. The first page will ask you to name your authentication, and state which type of authentication you wish to create ('Personal' or 'Organisational').

As you can see, the next page has two options. Your authentication will be based on either a Production or Sandbox environment depending on your use case. For Production, you will need to have your 'Base URL', 'Username' and 'Password' to hand.

For Sandbox environments, please make sure you have your 'API Key' ready.

For your Production credentials, Username and Password will be unique to you alone so fill them in accordingly. The same goes for your project Base URL - this will be entirely dependent on your usecase. Make sure to check the URL in the search bar of your browser for more details (once you are logged in).

For your Sandbox credentials, head to the SAP API Business Hub and log in. Once done, you will be able to click on the 'Show API Key' button displayed, and get a successful popup displaying your key:

Copy and paste this key into the auth field displayed earlier.

Once you have added these fields to your authentication popup window, click on the 'Create authentication' button. Go back to your settings authentication field (within the workflow builder properties panel), and select the recently added authentication from the dropdown options now available.

Your connector authentication setup should now be complete.
