IBM Watson STT

IBM Watson STT

IBM Watson's speech-to-text service.

Overview

The IBM Watson Speech to Text service provides APIs that use IBM's speech-recognition capabilities to produce transcripts of spoken audio. The service can transcribe speech from various languages and audio formats.

API INFO: The Base URL used for the IBM Watson STT connector is https://api.[location].speech-to-text.watson.cloud.ibm.com/instances/6bbda3b3-d572-45e1-8c54-22d6ed9e52c2. More information can be found on their main API documentation (v1.0) site.

Authentication

Within the workflow builder, highlight the IBM Watson STT connector.

In the IBM Watson STT connector properties panel to the right of the builder, click on the Authenticate tab and the 'Add new authentication' button.

This will result in a Tray.io authentication pop-up modal. The first page will ask you to name your authentication and select the type of authentication you wish to create ('Personal' or 'Organisational').

The next page asks you for your 'API Key' and 'Service url'.

In order to get these fields, head to the IBM Cloud dashboard. Click the Navigation menu and then select the 'Resource List' option.

From the 'Resource list' page, make sure you have your required resource under the 'Services' tab. Select the appropriate resource. In our case, we need credentials for STT i.e., Speech to Text resource.

If you do not have the appropriate resources added, you can always add the resource using the 'Create resource' button from the IBM Cloud dashboard.

Once you have selected the 'Speech to Text' resource, you will be redirected to its page. From here, you can always use the auto-generated service credentials.

If you wish to create new credentials, select the 'Service credentials' tab from the left panel. Then click the 'New credential' button.

Give a suitable name to your credentials and click the 'Add' button.

A new set of credentials is auto-generated.

Once you have added these fields to your Tray.io authentication pop-up window, click the 'Create authentication' button.

Go back to your settings authentication field (within the workflow builder properties panel), and select the recently added authentication from the drop-down options now available.

Your connector authentication setup should now be complete.
