Amplitude Dashboard

Amplitude Dashboard

Amplitude is a product analytics service that makes it easier for companies to understand user behaviour, ship the right features and improve business outcomes.

Overview

IMPORTANT!: This is the Amplitude Dashboard connector which contains operations allowing access to the Amplitude Dashboard API endpoints, such as /useractivity and /usersearch, which authenticate using both 'API Key' and 'Secret Key'. Use the main Amplitude connector to access the Amplitude API endpoints that only require 'API Key' to authenticate - e.g. HTTP API V2, Batch API, or Identify API.

The Amplitude Dashboard connector returns data from dashboard graphs in JSON format. The Dashboard REST API is based on whatever time zone you have set your project to in Amplitude.

API INFO: The Base URL used for the Amplitude Dashboard connector is https://amplitude.com/api/2. More information can be found on their main API documentation (v2) site. This is where users will also be able to find the API Limitations page.

Authentication

IMPORTANT!: You must create a new authentication for each Amplitude project that wish to interact with.

Within the workflow builder, highlight the Amplitude Dashboard connector.

In the Amplitude Dashboard connector properties panel to the right of the builder, click on the Authenticate tab and the 'Add new authentication' button.

This will result in a Tray.io authentication pop-up modal. The first page will ask you to name your authentication and select the type of authentication you wish to create ('Personal' or 'Organization').

The next page asks you for your 'API key' and 'Secret key' credentials.

In order to get these fields, head to the Amplitude dashboard. First click on 'Settings' in the sidebar menu.

Click on 'Projects' to see your Amplitude projects.

Your credentials are project-specific, so click on the project you wish to interact with to access its settings. You will see that the 'API key' is already be visible.

Click 'Show' under the Secret Key heading in order to reveal the 'Secret key'.

Once you have added these fields to your Tray.io authentication popup window, click the 'Create authentication' button.

Go back to your settings authentication field (within the workflow builder properties panel), and select the recently added authentication from the dropdown options now available.

Your connector authentication setup should now be complete.
